The Lyman Hall FFA Alumni and Supporters organization brings together former FFA members, parents, educators, community members, and friends who are dedicated to supporting and promoting agricultural education.

To support and promote FFA and agricultural education on local, state and national levels.

To build community relationships and and long-lasting partnerships within the community.

To promote greater knowledge of the agricultural industry and support education in agriculture.

Meet your Officers

President

Taylor is a Lyman Hall FFA alumni (1999). She served as Chapter Secretary and participated in the National chorus. She attended UCONN and received her associates degree in Equine Science and bachelors in Animal Science with a focus in genetics and reproductive physiology. She was part of the UCONN hunter/jumper equestrian and vaulting teams. She has served as the Branford town representative on the ASTE consulting committee and judges many chapter, state and regional CDE competitions. She is a substitute teacher at Wallingford schools and is a third generation gardener from Shelly’s Garden Center where she taught customers how to live with sustainable agriculture and farm on small acres. At her fox field farm homestead she teaches soft hands youth animal husbandry and promotes and supports the agricultural trades for the future of tomorrow.

Vice-President/Secretary

Jennifer is a Lyman Hall FFA Alumni (2003). She was chapter secretary for three years, received her state degree and placed 1st place-gold in Small Animal, Food Science and Dairy Science CDE’s. She competed nationally in both Dairy and Food Science where her teams received silver and gold awards. She served on the state officer interview committee in 2003. After graduating high school she attended SUNY Cobleskill where she received her associates in Animal Science and worked as a Veterinary Technician for 3 year before getting married and starting a family. Once her children were of school age, she went back to school to obtain her Bachelors in Early Childhood at Post University. Jennifer currently works as a preschool teacher in East Haven.

Treasurer

Mary is the mother of a current Lyman Hall ASTE student. She attended Southern Connecticut State University and has her bachelors in finance with a minor in marketing and management. She worked for several years as an investment advisor helping individuals and businesses plan for their future financial needs. She is a certified Connecticut municipal tax collector and served three terms as elected tax collector for the town of Branford as well as seven years for the city of Waterbury. She served for eight years as both vice-president and treasurer for Branford youth cheerleading. For the last ten years she has been a substitute teacher for grades k-12 in Branford. Although not an alumni she is a firm supporter and believer in what FFA stands for.

What our Alumni Association does…

  • Raise money for annual scholarship
  • Purchase FFA Dress Jackets for chapter participants
  • Mentor students
  • Serve as advocates for Ag Education
  • Support ASTE Teachers and Students
  • Raise money for student activities
  • FFA Week activities

We are looking for motivated alumni and supporters to join our efforts as we advocate and support agricultural education, our students and staff.
